GENE INFORMATION

Stripes is a very versatile marking gene that allows for more or less any types of stripes.
You may take inspiration from animals such as tigers, zebras, and even various different
variants of tabby, seen in our beloved house cats!
Horizontal stripes should remain somewhat short to avoid mimicking Pinstripe.
This marking does not need to be symmetrical, but a minimum of three stripes should always be visible on both sides.

EXPLANATION AND RULES

Stripes can present as any type of natural striping both vertically and horizontally as seen in Tigers, Zebras, Striped Hyenas and
can even be swirly like in Tabby cats.
They can be a mix of different types of stripes but must only have one edge type throughout.

However, tabby like markings must still look natural and not like stamped on swirls.
Using references of real life tabby cats is encouraged.

Stripes can either be hard edged or soft edged and may fade out into the base around the lower half of a creature.
At minimum at least three stripes must show on the body of a dinosaur and at maximum it may cover the entire body.

Stripes can take on any one natural color either darker or lighter, or it may be lighter or darker than the base.
Stripes can have a Ghosting effect.

While we allow for a lot of freedom for Stripes it's important not to mimic genes such as Bar, Banded, Dun, Okapi and Pinstripe!
It also cannot mimic Primal if the extension isn't present.
