GENE INFORMATION

Metal Coat is a special gene that overrides the color rules for either the base or other genes.
It cannot be inherited and must be applied to an import via obtaining the Shiny Shot collection item.

COLOR RULES

This gene follows special color rules further explained below.

EDGE TYPES

This gene is a color modifier and has no edge types.

EXPLANATION AND RULES

Metal Coat allows your creature to take on the colors of a metal or metal alloy of your choice.
It can affect either the base or the genes.
It should be shaded and not appear flat, mimicking the appearance of the real life counterpart.

Important: While you can technically use any real life metal found in the periodic table,
we made a list below of the most common or interesting metals and alloys that should be used instead.

Most Metals may optionally present with oxidization or rust, creating a weathered effect.
Oxidization is most commonly found in Copper and rust in Iron.
Some metals don't rust and some do not oxidize, however for simplicity's sake we allow it for all metals except noble metals.
Noble Metals like Gold, Platinum, Osmium, Silver, and Mercury may not present with oxidization or rust.
